One Greene County park recently received an upgrade.
Greene County Conservation Director Tanner Scheuermann says the new pedestrian bridge has been installed at Squirrel Hollow Park. Custom Manufacturing of Clinton, Wisconsin designed and installed the bridge, which Scheuermann points out was in disrepair and needed to be replaced. He notes that the bridge is a critical component to the park because it connects the shelter house and picnic area with the campground and playground.
“Pretty excited about that, a lot of folks are pretty excited about that. That’s kind of the first piece of the puzzle as far as the improvements that are going to happen out there.”
Scheuermann also thanks the Greene County Secondary Roads Department for helping with the project by doing some of the preparation work to the site. He adds the total cost of the project was $74,753 and they received a Greene County Community Foundation grant for $34,000 earlier this year to help offset the total cost.
