The high school wrestling season in Iowa is underway with practice and various media outlets have released team and individual rankings for the 2023-24 campaign. Greene County High School has two wrestlers appearing in most of the preseason rankings and both are State Tournament veterans.

Junior Brent Dennhardt is ranked fourth at 150 lbs. and Gavin Scheuermann is ranked fifth at 157 lbs. Dennhardt placed eighth at 145 lbs. in 2A last season and Scheuermann is a three-time State qualifier who has been just one victory short of finishing eighth or higher at State each of the last two seasons.

The first six weight classes in Iowa high school wrestling are unchanged from recent seasons, but after 138 lbs., the new new weights are 144, 150, 157, 165, 175, 190, and 215. The 285 lbs. weight class remains the same.
