One member of the Senate has tried putting a stop to promotions in the US military.

US Senator Chuck Grassley says a colleague from Alabama is keeping the senate from making promotions traditionally by voting on them all together. He tells Raccoon Valley Radio that Senate members have started going around Majority Leader Chuck Schumer.

“Schumer running the Senate, doesn’t want to bring them up separately, but Republicans are forcing the issue by 16 senators signing what you call a petition to move forward.”

Grassley mentions that by doing this, there have been a few promotions that have been approved, and that he and other Senators will continue to make sure the US military is prepared by having the best people in the places they need to be.
