The 13th Annual Art on the Prairie proved to be another success this past weekend in Perry.

Art on the Prairie committee member Lynsi Pasutti said there were 55 visual artists, 32 musicians and 23 poets in ten different venues across Perry Saturday and Sunday. She recalled when this event first started it was in the Hotel Pattee, Carnegie Library and Museum and Towncraft, and now it’s in ten locations and it’s because of the partnerships their committee has cultivated over the years to allow Art on the Prairie to grow.

“We wouldn’t be able to do it without the generous support from the city (of Perry) and city-owned buildings, from private (owned) buildings that are saying, ‘Sure we will open up, we will provide space for these artists this weekend.’ They see the value in being a part of it (and) they want to support it. And so it’s a really fun event for the participants but it’s also a really great event for community pride and that identity of Perry being a place for arts and culture to thrive.”

Art on the Prairie was from 10am-5pm on Saturday and 10am-4pm on Sunday.
