The Perry Bluejays fell on the gridiron on Friday night in their regular season finale against the Creston Panthers, 49-14. Creston came into the locker room up 35-0. They then added on a couple of more touchdowns in the third quarter, extending their lead to 49-0 at the end of 3. Senior quarterback Cael Turner for Creston threw for 227 yards and 3 touchdowns on the night. He also rushed for 2 touchdowns as well and put up 71 yards on the ground. Brennan Hayes also had a big night for the Panthers as he led Creston in both rushing and receiving yards. He had 123 rushing yards for 2 rushing touchdowns. Hayes also had a touchdown reception to go along with his 69 receiving yards. On the Perry side of things, Geren Kenney was 12/26 and threw for 99 yards and a touchdown. Drake Levan also had a touchdown on senior night as well for the Bluejays. He had 6 receptions for 59 yards.

Perry finishes the season 2-7 overall. But they have came along way since a year ago. Remember the Bluejays had to forfeit their last 3 games a season ago due to not having enough players. They were able to get through a complete season this year this time around. They will have a lot of momentum, as well as positives, to bring forward into next year, after their first year under head coach Tyler Hovey. Special thanks to the entire Perry community for a great season. It was an honor to call Bluejay football games this fall.
