Children will dress up in their favorite costume and solicit sweet treats in Perry at the end of the week.
The Perry Chamber Spooktacular is on Friday from 4-6pm in the downtown area. Chamber Director Lynsi Pasutti tells Raccoon Valley Radio that at 3pm they will close down 2nd Street from Otley Avenue to Pattee and Willis Avenue from 1st-3rd streets to make it safer for families to ask for candy, while wearing their Halloween costumes.
“We’re expecting about 1200 kids to come down to the downtown area, so it’s pretty wild. But 4 to 6 p.m. is the Downtown Spooktacular. 5 to 630pm is over at the hospital, and then 6 to 8 is the citywide Beggars Night.”
Other activities include the Dallas County Hospital Safe and Healthy Trick or Treat in the north parking lot from 5-6:30pm, along with the citywide Beggars Night from 6-8pm.
Pasutti notes any business or organization is welcome to be a part of the Spooktacular event.
