Dallas Center-Grimes football season comes to a close on Friday night.
The Mustangs fell to the Lewis Central Titans by a score of (28-7) in Council Bluffs. Lewis Central scored on their first two possessions and put Dallas Center-Grimes on their heels in the first half. The Mustang defense settled down but the offense could convert on a couple of crucial fourth down conversions.
Senior Ty Mikkelsen threw the ball 32 times and completed 17 for 152 yards and senior Eli Carpenter ran for 30 yards and one touchdown. Senior Eddie Pyne was the leading receiver with 68 yards on nine catches. Senior Aiden Charlson lived in the backfield with three tackles for loss and 11 tackles. Junior Tate Perrin collected his ninth interception which ties the school record held by Mike Ferguson in 1983.
Dallas Center-Grimes football finished with a record of (4-5) and district six record of (3-2). Their wins doubled from last year. They will graduate 16 seniors.
