The US Drought Monitor released their most recent report on drought conditions across Iowa.
Conditions haven’t changed much since last week’s report for the Raccoon Valley Radio listening area. Greene and Guthrie Counties continue to mainly suffer from moderate drought conditions, with northern Greene County and southern Guthrie County seeing severe drought. Dallas County is mainly in severe drought, while the northwest corner is in moderate drought.
According to the National Weather Service, Perry has seen 0.96 inches of rain in October, and on average usually sees 1.56 inches, while Guthrie Center has seen 0.92 inches and usually receives 1.85 inches. Jefferson has reported 0.85 inches, and usually sees 1.73 inches in October.
