The AC/GC Chargers volleyball team will be the first of the three fall teams to start postseason action, with their first match to be played tomorrow night.

The Chargers are coming off a week in which they competed in the West Central Activities Conference Conference Tournament, and the Woodward-Granger Tournament. Head coach Barb South says the girls played well in both tournaments, picking up a victory against Woodward-Granger the first night of the conference tournament, and moving into the top 4 teams. They then fell to a much improved Van Meter team, and lost a tough match against Earlham.

In the Woodward-Granger Tournament, the team dropped the first match against Roland-Story, but picked up two wins by first taking down Panorama, and then West Central Valley, two teams that the Chargers defeated multiple times during the regular season. AC/GC then faced a tough opponent in Boone, and South said that while the girls were tired from a day of competing, if it had been a regular match she believes they would have picked up the win.

South named sophomore Camdyn Richter as the player of the week, saying she leads the team in blocks with 19, and is a top server with a 94% serving success rate, making 205 out of 218, and tacking on 33 aces. The Chargers return to action tomorrow night as they play against Panorama who defeated West Central Valley in the first round of postseason action.
