
Local elections are just over a month away, and there are several candidates for the many towns of Guthrie County.
There is a contested race for mayor in Bagley, with Glen Foresman and Ruth Ann Riley both running for the position. Three seats on the Bagley City Council are also open, with Kylie Carmichael, Emily Chapman-Olesen, John (Scott) Richardson and Daphne Clark all having submitted paperwork, and there is also a vacancy to fill on the Council, with Tom Wardyn and Susan Dorr both running for the position.
In Casey, incumbent mayor Nicholas Lindberg is in an uncontested race, while Leland Acker, Rick Blake Cheinie Case and Bret Wedemeyer are competing for three council seats. Davis Meinecke is the only name running for Jamaica mayor, while Matthew Meinecke is the only running in a city council race with two seats up for grabs.
Menlo’s race for mayor has one candidate, with Chad Waddell running for the position, and there are as many candidates as city council seats for the town, with Molly Griswold, Dorothy Korradi and Steven Renslow having filed their paperwork. In Yale, Beverly Louk is running in a city council race with two seats open.
