Dallas Center-Grimes football got their first district win of the 2023 season in convincing fashion on Friday.
The Mustangs held the Yellow Jackets scoreless and won 35 to 0. The official stats show that Dallas Center-Grimes racked up a total of 243 yards of total offense with 43 yards passing and 200 yards rushing. Senior running back Eli Carpenter had a big day on the ground as he rushed for 130 yards and four touchdowns on 23 carries. Additionally, junior Landen Morton ran for 41 yards and sophomore Cole Hemmingsen rushed for 32 yards.
Senior quarterback Ty Mikkelsen passed just seven times and completed four passes for 43 yards and one touchdown. The touchdown went to senior Dayne Mauk for a 9 yard . Freshman Wyatt Valenta was the leading receiver that night with 26 yards on two receptions. Senior Aiden Charlson was credited for two sacks and two tackles for loss while junior Clark Johnson had one sack. Junior Tate Perrin grabbed two interceptions and held Thomas Jefferson to -13 rushing yards. For further official stats click here.
