The Perry High School celebrated with a number of activities, but ended Wednesday night with a big announcement.
The Perry Homecoming Prep Rally and Coronation named their homecoming king and queen. The homecoming king was awarded to Kain Killmer and the highly anticipated homecoming queen went to Valeria Gomez. Gomez shared her initial reaction to being the 2023 Perry Homecoming Queen.
“ I just didn’t think I would win. I was just like, oh, everybody else. Like, there’s so much better. And then I was just kind of shocked the whole time.”
Killmer also shared his initial reaction to becoming the 2023 homecoming king.
“I was nervous. I was like, he took forever to do it. So I was just like, oh, shoot. Oh, shoot. Oh, shoot. And then he did it. I was just happy and thankful, mostly thankful, just appreciative that my friends would let me get to do this.”
The other activities that happened on Wednesday were the volunteer day, homecoming parade and junior cookout.
