The West Central Valley High School students and staff were safe from a non-credible threat that was made Thursday morning.
The high school staff notified the Stuart Police Department of a possible threat to the high school at 11:38am. According to a press release from the Stuart Police Department, the high school activated its evacuation plan as part of the protocol. Following the investigation, it was determined that the threat was non-credible. The area of concern was cleared and the building was secured before students and staff were allowed to re-enter. Additional law enforcement presence was at the school for the rest of the day out of abundance of caution.
Guthrie, Dallas and Adair County Sheriff’s Offices, Adair and Guthrie County Emergency Management, Iowa State Patrol, the Stuart Fire Department and Stuart Rescue assisted at the scene.
