The West Central Valley School Board will meet in regular session tomorrow.

The Board will hear an Iowa Statewide Assessment of Student Progress (ISASP) presentation from Superintendent Rusty Shockley, then consider for approval personnel changes consisting of extra duty contracts with Courtney Sargent and Maddyson Reinhart for high school basketball cheer, Will Gormally for middle school boys basketball and Kent Muyskens as an assistant high school boys basketball coach, and the resignation of Lori Christensen as the basketball cheer sponsor prior to the 2023-24 school year.

The Board will also consider for approval allowable growth approval for the special education deficit in the amount of $402,585.21, the 2023-24 University of Northern Iowa Cooperative Agreement, and annual motions, including an official publication, appointment of Board Secretary/Treasurer, and financial institutions where public funds may be deposited, and establishment of maximum amounts that can be kept on deposit in those banks, along with choosing a school attorney.

A proposal from TruNorth of ongoing cybersecurity services and approval of a concrete bid are also to be considered for approval by the Board, along with reviewing material ($28,626.84) and installation ($3,400 plus $200 minimum cleanup and removal fee plus $200 per hour for cleanup if/as needed) quotes for a wrestling room to be prepared in the safe room of Stuart Elementary to provide more practice space for the high school and middle school wrestling teams. The Board will then consider for approval overnight stay in Indianapolis for the National FFA Convention, review board policy 301.2 regarding succession of authority to the superintendent, and consider for approval 2023-24 School Board goals. They will then enter a closed session for superintendent evaluation.
