Greene County business owners and community leaders are invited to a special rural housing seminar tonight.
The Greene County Chamber and the Greene County Development Corporation’s Housing Committee are working together to sponsor this free event that focuses on the housing needs of the county with the over 1,000 expected jobs in the next few years to be in the area.
Chamber Director Chris Henning says president and chief executive officer Terry Lutz of McClure Engineering in Des Moines will be the guest speaker at the Jefferson Community Golf Course. She talks about what Lutz brings to the table as far as housing experience.
“Terry is an expert at public and private housing. He’s worked with 40 large and small Iowa communities and is an active investor in housing projects.”
She adds that Lutz will address the housing needs in rural areas across the state and how other communities are responding to their housing needs.
A social hour will begin at 5pm with a complimentary light dinner served at 5:30pm. The presentation will be from 6-7pm with a question and answer session to follow.
The after-hours event is made possible by Home State Bank, People’s Trust and Savings Bank and Tri-County Lumber.
