With a lighter week in terms of fall athletics for the Perry Bluejays and Jayettes, we continue on the football gridiron. Perry goes into their game tonight against Storm Lake after suffering the disappointing loss to Ogden one week ago. In what looked like a Bluejay win, a late pic 6 turned the tide for Perry. I spoke with Perry head coach Tyler Hovey about the end of the game last week. He said losing that way will provide more motivation for the guys going into the game tonight.

“It was really an unfortunate situation to be in, but at the same time, we told our guys we would much rather be in those close games every week, then taking a lopsided loss. Sometimes those losses don’t hurt as bad because you’re not that close to winning. Last Friday night we really felt like we had a really good opportunity to come away with the W. Because we were so close and because it ended the way that it did , it made it sting so much more. It’s more motivation for the next week to not let that happen,” Hovey said.

Kickoff tonight will be at 7 PM at Storm Lake High School. You can catch the play by play right here on KDLS.
