Wednesday, September 13th
2:19am: Janice Napolitano reported a Suspicious Male in the 600 Block of East Lincoln Way Street. The officer did not locate anyone in the area.
3:56am: An officer responded to an Alarm Activation at 1512 West Wood Drive. The business was found to be secure.
8:07am: Officers investigated a Hit & Run Accident near North Elm and Central Avenue. A 2008 GMC Arcadia, owned and operated by Melissa Agan of Gowrie, was southbound in the outside lane of North Elm Street. A semi with a side dump trailer attempted to change lanes near Central Ave. and struck the Agan vehicle. The semi did not stop. The 2018 WANC and trailer was owned by Wearda Farms of Cedar Rapids. The unit was operated by Duane Christian of Webster City. The semi-trailer had no reported damage, while the Agan vehicle had a reported $2000.00 in front end damages. Christian was cited for, “Improper Lane Change.”
8:38am: Officers investigated an accident in the 200 Block of East Adams Street. A 2013 Buick Enclave, owned by Daryl Luther of Grand Junction and operated by Amy Baugh of Jefferson, was eastbound on Adams Street. Baugh advised the sun was in her eyes, blocking her vision. She struck the rear of a parked trailer. The 2012 Bravo Trailer was owned by John Beals of Johnston. The Baugh vehicle had a reported $800.00 in damages, while the trailer suffered a reported $1000.00 in damages. Baugh was cited for, “Fail to Maintain Control.”
3:45pm: Don Ott requested a Welfare Check on a subject in the 600 Block of South Elm Street. The officer was working to locate the subject, who was not at home, when he later called and advised he was fine.
5:37pm: Stephanie Bickle reported her two juvenile children were missing since 1400 hours. As the officer began searching, Bickle called and advised she had located them.
6:33pm: Libby Towers reported two vehicles heading toward Jefferson on N Ave, who appeared to be racing each other. The officer located the vehicles and performed a Traffic Stop with them. The officer spoke to them about the reported complaint.
7:41pm: David Sayre reported mail sticking out of the US Postal Mailbox in the 100 Block of East Harrison Street. The officer was able to push the mail fully into the box.
8:16pm: Mikayla Hyink reported a known male was harassing her on Facebook. The officer advised her to continue to block the subject.
