The Perry School Board recently changed how they will handle band and choir credits.

The Board approved a proposal to make band and choir classes a full one credit each semester which will be included into a students grade point average. Superintendent Clark Wicks says that this approval highlights all the work students put into band and choir everyday. Wicks explains that this also puts the responsibility on the student to make sure they are aware of the standards and it will be accredited to their GPA.

“That balance of student learning with responsibility and accountability is absolutely a critical part of student success.”

Wicks says that this will go into effect next year.
