The public is being asked to help donate items for a fundraiser for an important non-profit entity in Jefferson.

The Webb House has been in existence for over 25 years as a place for middle school-aged kids to hang out in a safe and enjoyable environment during the school year. However, eighth grader Kole Johnson-Peterson says the deck of the building has seen better days and he got approval from the Webb House Board to replace the deck with a garage sale fundraiser. He talks about his reaction after the Board approved the fundraiser.

“Yeah I thought it was pretty cool. They were all pretty helpful with it, and understanding with it, and went along with it really well.”

Johnson-Peterson is asking for donations of items for the garage sale. He points out certain items won’t be accepted, including clothing, shoes, large appliances, furniture, TVs and computers. He explains why they are not going to have these items at the garage sale.

“Some of them are just harder to get rid of afterwards and we don’t want to have to deal with that, we don’t want to make it a big hassle.”

Item donations can be made all this week through Friday to the United Methodist Church in Jefferson. The garage sale on Saturday is also taking place at the church.
