The AC/GC Chargers traveled to Stuart Tuesday night, and came away with a big 3-0 volleyball victory over their cross-county and conference rival, the West Central Valley Wildcats. The Chargers won the three sets with scores of 25-11, 25-8 and 25-15 respectively.

For the Chargers, junior Shay Lemke led in assists and digs, with 27 overall assists, giving her an average of 9 per set, and 9 digs for an average of 3 per set. Freshman Stella Largent led the team in kills, recording 4.3, a kill percentage of 33.3%, and collecting 5.3 points. Senior Jena Rowley led in blocks by grabbing 1, and sophomore Becca Littler led in serve aces, collecting 1.3 on 4.3 attempts.

For the Wildcats, sophomore Talia Williams led in assists, with 6 overall and averaging 2 per set, while fellow sophomore Meleah Speichinger led in kills with 1.3, a negative kill percentage, and 1.3 points. Senior Breanna Powell led the team in digs and serve aces, with .3 aces on 2 attempts, and 11 digs, averaging 3.7 per set.

The Chargers are now 3-0 on the season, and the Wildcats fall to 0-8. The win for AC/GC comes after a close 3-2 opening match against Van Meter, and a 3-1 match against Pleasantville last week. The next games for the Chargers come Saturday, as the team travels to Griswold for the Tiger Volleyball Tournament, with AHSTW, Riverside and Southwest Valley all attending as well.
