Well it was quite the night for Perry Athletics on Tuesday night. First the swim team moving to 6-0, and now the Perry Jayettes picking up their first win of the season on the volleyball court against the PCM Mustangs, 3-1. Perry picked up an important win after a disappointing 0-7 start to their season. The first set was a nail bitter in the matchup with PCM on Tuesday night as Perry just got by the Mustangs 25-21. The second set allowed PCM to bounce back as they ended up winning that set, 25-12. The match was then tied at 1-1. Perry then just got by the Mustangs in the 3rd and 4th sets by scores of 25-23 and 25-22.
Senior Maci Tunick had a big night for the Jayettes as she led the team with 10 kills. Junior Miley Sanchez was the next Jayette down in the kills category as she put together 8. It was the most complete performance by Perry all season. They will look to bring the momentum of their first win forward into the Perry Varsity Invitational this upcoming Thursday at Perry High School. That match will begin at 4 PM.
