Law enforcement agencies around the state are continuing to participate in the “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” traffic safety initiative.
Iowa State Patrol Trooper Shelby McCreedy says that the goal of the initiative is to reduce traffic related fatalities. She mentions that the initiative began at the beginning of August, and will finish at the end of this weekend. McCreedy adds that they are hoping to bring down the number of deaths for this year’s Drive Sober initiative in comparison to last year’s, which had 40 traffic fatalities.
