The last two days of the Guthrie County Fair are coming up.
Tomorrow is Old Settlers Day, making the fair free to attendees that are 70 or older. The working dogs competition will begin at 8am in the Horse Arena with Bucket/Bottle Calf interviews at the 4-H/FFA Education Center from 9-11am. The 4-H/FFA Cattle Show will begin at 10am, with the open class to follow, and the J.R. Hodges Award Winner will be announced at 11:30am.
At noon a magic show will begin in the Little Amphitheater, with face painting being from noon to 4pm at the Event Center, and free carnival rides going from noon to 10pm. Floral Demonstrations with Deanna Hansen will be from 1-2pm in the Ag Hall, with Quilting Demonstrations by Lorrie Stringham in the Art Hall from 2-4pm, and Monster Arm Wrestling weigh-ins at 4pm with the contest to follow at 5. The introduction of the 2024 Guthrie County Fair Queen will also be at 5pm, with the Zach Meacham Memorial Chicken Calling/Throwing Contest in the Show Ring. The free Grandstand event will be figure eight races followed by fireworks.
On Monday there will be tractor rides starting at 9am, along with the Parade of Champions, followed by the 4-H/FFA Premium Auction in the Show Ring. Free carnival rides will be from 10am to 2pm, with static exhibits being released starting at 10am as well. There will be a drawing at the Art Hall starting at 1pm, with most other exhibits being released starting at 1pm as well.
