The most recent drought report from the US Drought Monitor has been released, and there’s no good news for the Raccoon Valley Radio area.
Guthrie County is facing mostly moderate drought conditions, with abnormally dry conditions on the east side of the county, and some severe drought conditions on the western side of the county. Greene County is suffering from mostly abnormally dry conditions, while the western side of the county is seeing some moderate drought, while Dallas County is seeing mostly abnormally dry conditions, with moderate drought conditions in the southeastern corner.
According to the National Weather Service rainfall totals for August include Perry with 3.61 inches, Guthrie Center saw 3.15 inches, and Jefferson received 2.69 inches of precipitation.
