The Perry boys XC team officially kicked off their season last Thursday night in the Madrid Cross Country Invitational at Grant Woods Park. The boys team finished in 3rd place overall. Yonas Andemichael finished in 6th place and was the leader of the pack for the boys with a time of 18:35:43. Thad Stewart finished in 8th place overall for the boys as well as he finished the 5K in a time of 18:56:50. Maebel Tekle and Aiden Carlson were the next two Bluejays that crossed the finish line on Thursday. Tekle finished in 13th place overall, with a time of 20:05:04. Carlson finished in 23rd. He ran a 21:07:12.

It was a solid first meet for the boys. They will look to build upon their 3rd place finish on Thursday. The next step to doing that will be tomorrow night. They will compete in the Winterset XC Invitational  at Lakeview Country Club. The gun is set to go off at 4:15.
