Tomorrow night, Friday on September 1, at 7 pm, the ADM Tigers and Winterset Huskies will once again cross paths on the football field at McGaffin Field. This matchup continues a storied rivalry that first started back in 2007, creating a longstanding tradition of competitive games. The two teams have only missed two years of playing each other, in 2010 and 2011. As the sun sets and the stadium lights shine down, fans from both sides will gather to witness the latest chapter in this rivalry, eagerly awaiting the outcome of who is the better football team.
Coach Randy Schrader has some familiarity when it comes to facing the Huskies, but Schrader believes that him and his team will go in like every game as “humble and hungry” as no matter how often you see a team there is always a chance to “improve between your first and second game. You workout, what fundamentals do you need to work on, what are your weaknesses? Than you just concentrate on them along with prepping for the team.” According to Coach Schrader.
Over the years, these two teams have shared a history of thrilling encounters, and tomorrow’s game is no exception. While the specific dynamics of this year’s matchup remain to be seen, one thing is certain: the ADM vs. Winterset rivalry will once again take center stage at McGaffin Field.
