The Grand Junction Lions Club is once again hosting an annual fundraiser over the upcoming holiday.
The pancake breakfast fundraiser will be held at the Lakeside Shelter at Spring Lake Park on Sunday from 7:30-10am. The free-will donation meal includes whole hog sausage, 7-Up pancakes, coffee, orange juice and milk while supplies last. All proceeds will go back to the non-profit organization for projects.
Lions Club member Terry Hoefle says they’ve used funds to award two scholarships to graduating high school seniors this past May, as well as provided funds for new lounge chairs at the Grand Junction Municipal Pool; they’ve helped plant over 125 trees in town the last one and a half years, and provided more lighting at the main shelter house at Spring Lake Park. Hoefle adds that the next major project for the Lions Club is going to be building a shelter house type structure at the old school site in the city.
