Two Panorama High School graduates will receive national FFA recognition later this year.
Panorama FFA Chapter members Dylan Ford and Sarah Kastner will be heading to the 96th National FFA Convention and Expo to receive their American Degrees on November 1st. Both individuals met the requirements to receive the degree by keeping records on their Supervised Agriculture Experience (SAE) throughout high school, completing community service and participating in various leadership development programs like contestes, and serving as chapter officers.
Ford worked through several SAE’s, detasseling corn, working at the lumberyard and raising show sheep, while Kastner worked for her family’s beef farm, and eventually came into ownership of her own cattle. Both submitted their records of hours, income, expenses and gained knowledge, which went through various reviewing processes starting in May, and found out earlier this month that they were part of the one-percent of FFA members that had been approved for their American Degrees. Ford and Kastner are set to become only the 8th and 9th members of the Panorama FFA Chapter to receive the highest degree achievable in FFA.
