A 53 year-old man from Perry is in fair condition at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines following a motorcycle accident in Greene County on Tuesday.

Daniel Eugene Hull was taken to Mercy Medical Center after he lost control of his 2008 Yamaha V-Rod motorcycle due to a curve on 305th Street near V Avenue, south of Rippey.  Officials with Mercy Medical said on Wednesday that Hull’s condition was unavailable meaning that he was involved in a procedure.

Today, hospital officials say Hull is in fair condition.

Following the accident on Tuesday night, Greene County Sheriff Steve Haupert says Hull was cited for failure to maintain control and his motorcycle sustained major damage.

Haupert notes that sliding into a grassy ditch after Hull lost control probably helped to save his life.
