The Iowa Association of Track Coaches recently released pre-season team and individual rankings for the 2023 cross country season. In Class 1A, the AC/GC Chargers boys team is sitting pretty with a first place ranking, while the girls team makes it into the top 20 with a 14th place ranking. Other West Central Activities Conference teams that made it into the rankings for the boys side are Madrid in 4th, Ogden in 10th and Earlham in 15th. A familiar non-conference team includes IKM-Manning at 11th. For individual rankings, senior Andrew Mahaffey is ranked 9th, while junior Noah Kading is ranked 27th. On the girls side, other WCAC teams include Earlham in 1st and Madrid in 6th. Some familiar non-conference teams include IKM-Manning and Grandview Christian. For individual rankings, junior Ava Campbell is ranked 9th.
