The Iowa Nitrogen Initiative (INI) is looking to recruit farmer collaborators for next year.

The INI searches for these collaborators as nitrogen fertilizer is a critical and crucial part of crop production, but also one of the costliest. This initiative is a private/public partnership to provide Iowans with nitrogen science to benefit productivity, profitability and performance. INI will be holding field days at Iowa State University County Extensions around the state, and Guthrie County Extension will be hosting one on August 23rd. Some objectives of the class are to design and deploy a system of hundreds of on-farm nitrogen fertilizer rate trials, update and enrich nitrogen recommendations and develop a forecasting tool.

The Field Day at the Guthrie County Extension will begin at 10am, and be hosted by Dave Schwartz. For those interested in attending, and for those interested in being a participant but unable to attend, visit the links below.
