West Central Valley WildcatYesterday was the final day of school for students at West Central Valley, but that doesn’t mean work stops for Superintendent Dr. David Arnold and other district staff.

In fact, Dr. Arnold says he’s still hard at work to get a major district issue resolved–finding a permanent solution to what happened to the new football field and track earlier this year.  He gives us an update on that situation.

“At this time, I’ve contacted our main contractor but to me it’s been a very slow process of getting people together and getting commitments out of them.  Our track and field are under a one-year warranty, and we will make sure we have the correct type of facility we paid for.”

With the district now in its summer months, preparation for the football season begins.  Though the Wildcats’ first game is still a few months out, Dr. Arnold wants answers from contractors as soon as possible.

“I’d like to have our meeting next week and get things moving ahead.  It’s been too long and it’s taken too much time… it’s time to move forward and get going on this.”

After last week’s West Central Valley School Board meeting, it was expected the district would meet with athletic complex contractors within a couple of weeks.  However, Arnold says there has been no definitive date set.
