The City of Grand Junction is no longer under a boil alert.

Grand Junction residents have been under a boil alert since Monday when a major water main break caused the entire town to be without water. After the water main was repaired, samples had to be submitted to the state for testing and on Friday those samples came back clean of contaminants. Free cases of bottled water were available to every household that needed it.

Residents can now consume water without having to boil it before using it for drinking, cooking, doing dishes or brushing teeth.
