The West Central Valley Wildcats are getting ready to kick off their 2023 football season on Friday, August 25th against their conference rival, the Panorama Panthers. They will first travel to Madrid to take on the Madrid Tigers in their Gatorade scrimmage on August 18th. It was one of the best seasons in a long time for the West Central Valley Wildcats a year ago on the gridiron as they made the playoffs for the first time in 10 years. Head coach Jim Lindsay talked how their success last year, has raised their expectations even more for the 2023 season.

“Rolling on the success we had, success is relative. We had a pretty good year so that’s the goal is to get back to where we made the playoffs last year for the first time in 10 years. That is the bare minimum now. That kind of made the expectations go up, so now we got to live up to them,” said Lindsay.

The Wildcats were 5-4 a year ago, they will look surpass that this year with higher expectations. I will have more coverage on West Central Valley football as we get closer to kicking off the season in a couple of weeks right here on K 1079 and raccoonvalleyradio.com.
