The Adel Public Library was thrilled about the participation in their 2023 summer reading program.

Library Patron Services Manager Amy Puck says that the program was a success with 700 people ranging from infants to adults participating, and in return they turned in thousands of reading hours. Puck tells Raccoon Valley Radio that the participation took a decline during the pandemic, but she notes it’s refreshing to see it come back.

We are pleased to see a rebound now from our Covid numbers and then also growth from pre-COVID years as Adel grows as a community. The library’s goal is to keep up with this. And so we are thrilled to see all of our numbers going way up.”

Puck extended a thank you to all the donations and volunteers along with the organizations that helped with the summer reading programming.
