A Greene County town recently received a federal grant to help update its infrastructure. 

The City of Churdan was awarded $29,000 from a US Department of Agriculture Rural Development Special Evaluation Assistance for Rural Communities and Households (SEARCH) Grant. According to the USDA, the SEARCH grant helps very small communities with financial support with feasibility studies, design and technical assistance to improve water and waste disposal projects. 

The project is aimed to improve the city’s sewer system.
