Meeting a coach in a school community can be a great opportunity to connect with someone who can help you grow personally or professionally. Meet Mollie Sorber, a passionate coach who is excited for the 2023-24 season that begins today, August 7th.

Why coach Volleyball?: “I specifically wanted to coach volleyball because that was one of my biggest passions. I played since I was a little girl and just the coaches I had to influence me from third grade on and than getting to play throughout college…I was really happy when I got my first opportunity to coach at my last school and now to take over as head coach”

Where did you play?: “University of Northern Iowa Club team for 3 years. Absolutely loved it! Was a fun way to play competitively.”

Coaching philosophy: “Our main focus for this season is working together as a team. Our motto for this season is ‘team above all’  because anything good, bad, ugly, amazing happens, win or loss. At the end of the day we’re a team that’s what we came here as and that’s what we’re gonna leave here as.”

Improvements and Expectations for this 2023-24 volleyball season?: “we talked about momentum all the time where momentum can be taken all the time from one team from another team just by the shift of energy, and for the girls to see that at the Iowa state camp was a chance for them to understand and see how important that is.”…”Putting it all together from where we were at even the beginning of last summer, to where we’re at this summer, I’m just excited keep using that energy and skill set to transfer throughout the season.”

Coach Sorber is entering her second year as the Panoramas head volleyball coach. Throughout the summer her and her student-athletes have attended multiple summer team camps to prepare for the upcoming season.
