Caden Duncan enters his fifth season as a head football coach, all at Greene County High School. Not only do the wins and losses matter for the coach, but developing leaders is high on his list. Senior Jack Hansen is a member of the leadership team and Hansen talked with Raccoon Valley Radio about responsibilities those players have. “We’re supposed to make sure everybody’s inline in the classroom, on the field, and in the weight room, and set a good example. And, also help out our community a little bit. We’re kind of the first guys to be called on whenever we have to do fundraisers or anything like that.”
Hansen talked about how the time has gone since he was a freshman on the football team. “That time has flown by for sure! It was like yesterday I was a freshman. It was crazy! I was a little cocky, a little freshman coming in thinking I was good. Turns out, you’re not very good! School even because I’m not a big fan of school, but in the classroom it goes by super fast.”
Football camp wraps up today for high school players and a camp for middle school students starts late this afternoon and goes into the early evening. Both camps are at the middle school. Many in seventh and eighth grade are preregistered, but walk-ins are welcome.
