One Guthrie County town is getting ready for its big summer event.

Panora and Lake Panorama are getting ready for Panorama Days, a celebration linking the lakeside village and town together over the span of three days. Panora Chamber of Commerce Coordinator April Imming says that this weekend, from August 4th to the 6th there will be many fun things going on in town. She explains that for the most part, everything is all planned out, but that there are a few more fun festivities that are being added.

Imming tells Raccoon Valley Radio some of the major events that will get the weekend started.

“The biggest event that we start off on Friday night, we have the band Charm School Dropouts, that’s from 8:30(pm) to 11:30(pm) on Friday night. They have the Bill Riley Talent Show on Friday night as well, along with Main Street Dance Studio performs. So we’ve got a lot of things to kind of kick it off.

Imming relays that the festivities will continue into Saturday with a 5k run, parade in town in the morning, and in the afternoon there will be a ski show and all-terrain vehicle (ATV)/golf cart parade up at Lake Panorama. She adds that Sunday quiets down a little bit, but that the Panorama High School junior class will be hosting a breakfast, and an alumni golf tournament. For a list of more events, go to this link. Racoon Valley Radio’s Big Red Radio will be broadcasting live on Friday from 3-6pm, and Saturday from 9am to 6pm.
