There will be a program that focuses on the health of older adults.

Aging Resources of Central Iowa will put on their program called “Fresh Conversations,” from 12:30 to 1:30pm on Wednesday in the Perry Public Library’s community room . Nutritionist and Dietitian Stephanie Labenz says Fresh Conversations is a monthly program for older adults that are 60 years of age or older and they will go over practical tips and solutions to eat and live well in a group setting. She says the main topic for this Wednesday will be prediabetes.

So we’re going to be talking about if your blood sugars have been running a little high and the doctor’s been kind of watching them, it’s sort of which way do we go from here? So sometimes it tends to lead to type two diabetes, or we can reverse things with diet and exercise and just some lifestyle changes.”

Registration is not needed for this program and for more information contact the Perry Public Library.
