The “Family Week,” is coming to a close and activities will start to ramp up after the break for the Adel-DeSoto-Minburn School District

The Iowa High School Activities Federation is finishing out their non-contact period, otherwise known as “Family Week,” that runs from July 23-30th. This is a time for students to not be involved in activities and be with their loved ones. ADM Activities Director Rod Wiebers says that this dedicated off week in the schedule has been a positive thing for their school activities.

Athletes go pretty crazy throughout the year and they’re busy in regards to the number of activities. And to be able to have some time like this is an outstanding opportunity for them to recharge and get ready to go for the next upcoming school year.”

Wiebers says after the “Family Week,” ends tomorrow, activities will be in full swing beginning Monday.

“Teams have camps. So our football team will have their team camp next week starting on Monday. Volleyball is going to end up heading to Central College team camp. So it picks up right away. I mean, it’s one of those we’ll get back our kids (and they) will be in the weight room lifting and and all that. But that starts right away on Monday.”
