Monday, July 24th
12:31am: An officer located an Open Door at the golf course, 501 West Greenewood Road. The officer secured the building.
12:40am: An officer located an Open Door and secured the building at 610 North Elm Street.
11:20am: The Library advised of an Abandoned Bicycle at 200 West Lincoln Way Street. The officer placed the bike in the Impound Lot.
11:41am: Sue Bose requested Extra Patrol near Male and Lincoln Way Streets for juveniles riding bicycles in the street.
12:44pm: Jennifer Sproston requested a Welfare Check on a subject in Jefferson. The officer spoke to the subject, who was fine.
3:30pm: Caitlin Pettit spoke with an officer about Civil Issues with a neighboring apartment in the 1200 Block of Westwood Drive. The officer advised her to take the issues to her landlord.
3:48pm: An officer investigated an Accident at 220th and Elm Streets. A 2007 Chevrolet Avalanche, owned and operated by Richard Ostercamp of Eagle Grove, was eastbound on 220 th Street. The vehicle struck the stop sign at 220th and Elm Street, causing damage to both the vehicle and the sign. The vehicle had a reported $1000.00 in damages, while the sign had $500.00 in damage. Ostercamp was cited for, “Striking Fixture Upon a Highway.”
4:44pm: Mike Greenwood reported a Careless Driver on 220 th Street, heading east towards Jefferson. Greenwood could not identify the vehicle.
5:53pm: Allison Drewry reported catching a piglet in the 1100 Block of South Elm Street. The piglet had fallen from a passing truck.
6:59pm: During a Traffic Stop in the 500 Block of North Elm Street, the officer’s investigation led to the arrest of Brent Cooper, 40 of Vincent for, “Driving While Revoked – Serious, Violation of Restricted License – Simple, Possession of Controlled Substance /marijuana – Serious, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia– Simple.”
9:15pm: Keri Moore reported a vehicle on 220th Street, heading west into Jefferson, with no taillights. The officer did not locate the reported vehicle.
11:31pm: An officer assisted a deputy near 237th and Jordan Ave. with a vehicle in the river.
Tuesday, July 25th
1:08am: Mark White requested an officer in the 200 Block of East State Street for subjects making threatening gestures towards him. The subjects had left the area before the officer’s arrival.
9:02am: A caller advised of a Possible Suicidal Subject in Jefferson. The officer spoke to the subject, who did not advise the officer of any intentions to harm himself.
10:04am: Timothy Baldwin reported a Stolen Bicycle from the square during the RAGBRAI Event. The bike was later located and had not been stolen.
11:26am: Dispatch advised of a 911 Hang Up call. The call did not map, preventing the officer from taking any action without a location.
1:21pm: Dispatch advised of an Open Line 911 call from the 100 Block of North Chestnut Street. The officer did not locate anyone in the area needing assistance.
5:47pm: Manuel Flores spoke to an officer concerning issues with his 13-year-old daughter. The officer offered some options that may help.
6:07pm: Jennifer Dwinell reported a Stray Dog in the 100 Block of South Cedar Street. The officer did not locate the reported animal.
8:12pm: An officer was advised of a Light pole, which had been struck and knocked over near Mahlon and North Wilson Ave. The officer was given a vehicle description of the vehicle, which fled from the area. The officer is investigating.
9:47pm: Oly’s Corner requested an officer at 208 West Lincoln Way Street for Unruly Juveniles causing issues in the store. The subjects had left before the officer’s arrival.
9:59pm: A Traffic Stop near Elm and Central resulted in Terry Reid of Carroll being cited for, “Fail to Secure Child.”
11:56pm: An officer performed a Traffic Stop near 22 th and Elm Streets, with a vehicle with a headlight out. The officer’s investigation led to the arrest of Richard Young, 62 of Jefferson for, “OWI 1st Offense – Serious.”
Wednesday, July 26th
8:09am: A caller spoke with an officer in connection to fears of drug abuse by her adult daughter in Jefferson. The officer is working to contact the subject’s Probation Officer.
10:01am: A caller requested an Animal Welfare Check on a dog in the 700 Block of Rushview Drive. The officer spoke with the owner of the dog and checked the animal. The officer determined the dog was fine.
10:47am: An officer performed a Funeral Escort.
11:13am: Larry Paulsen advised of a dog in a vehicle parked near 402 West Russell Street. He was unsure if the vehicle was running and had the air on. The vehicle was leaving the area as the officer arrived.
12:10pm: An officer issued a Parking Violation Notice in the 300 Block of South Wilson Ave. for, “Parking Between the Lot Line and Curb Line.”
2:23pm: A caller advised of a vehicle on 220th Street, heading east with “Help Me” written of the window. The officer did not locate the reported vehicle.
2:28pm: Lorrie Lawrence requested an officer at 305 North High Street to remove Unwanted Subjects from the residence. The officer arrived and spoke to all involved. The subjects were advised and not returned by the officer.
3:28pm: An officer is investigating a Backing Accident in the parking lot at 106 West Washington Street.
3:45pm: An officer met with two subjects at the LEC, who advised of Harassment from a store clerk at 208 West Lincoln Way Street. An investigation has begun.
6:57pm: An officer freed a groundhog, which was trapped in a window well at 1102 McDuffie Drive.
3:52am: An officer assisted a motorist with mechanical problems with her vehicle at Westwood and Linwood.
