In less than 12 hours, several fire departments in Greene County were called back out to a home fire that had rekindled.

The Jefferson, Scranton and Grand Junction Fire Departments responded early Thursday afternoon to a fire that restarted at 1355 310th Street. Smoke was seen billowing out of the windows of the attic of the two story home. This is the second time fire crews responded and the Greene County Sheriff’s Office and Greene County Ambulance assisted at the scene.

Greene County Sheriff and Jefferson Fire Chief Jack Williams reported that earlier this morning, at 2:31am, all three fire departments first responded to the fire, where he could see visible flames and smoke coming from the roof of the attic. Williams believed the suspect cause of the fire was electrical related.
