Drake Levan was consistent all year long for the Perry Bluejays on the diamond both on the mound and from behind the plate. He was a big part of another double digit win for Perry. Baseball Head Coach Michael Craig talked about the consistency he saw from Levan this past year not just on the mound but at every at bat at the plate.
“Drake halfway through the winter just kind of looked at me and said, “Hey coach, I want to get better at hitting this year.” You could just tell he worked a lot on that in the offseason I think with his dad. He just worked hard at getting consistent reps in the cage, working on getting the hands through the zone quicker, and it worked out well for him. He worked hard for that,” said Craig.
Drake Levan’s work throughout the offseason definitely paid off as he had outstanding numbers from behind the plate in 2023. He finished the year with a batting average of .315, as well as an on base percentage of .468. He also put up stellar numbers on the mound as he finished the year with a 3.13 ERA in 44.2 innings pitched, to go along with 42 strikeouts. He was big for the Perry Bluejays both offensively and defensively. He will look to carry that momentum forward into his senior season in 2024.
