The Adel City Council held a meeting on Tuesday.

The Council approved to pay $499,500 for the 2019 Adel Wastewater System Improvement Project final pay application along with a resolution that reviewed the city’s wastewater treatment plant improvements. 

Additionally, they approved the preliminary plat of southbridge plat 5, rezoning lots 45 and 46 in Eagle Vista Plat 3 along Highway 6, and a definition change of a part-time employee in the City of Adel Employee Handbook. A part-time employee will now be required to work a minimum of 20 hours per week in a year round schedule instead of the old definition of less than 30 hours per week. 

In old business, the mayor made appointments to some Boards and Commissions, including  Sarah Whittlesey to the Board of Adjustment and Patrick Halsey was appointed to the Planning and Zoning Commission. The Council tabled the Historical Preservation Commission to look at expanding the board from three to seven members.
