This Monday the Guthrie County Iowa State University Extension and Outreach will be hosting this year’s Judging Day.

Summer Program Assistant Kierstan Knobbe tells Raccoon Valley Radio that there will be quite a few events that will be looked at throughout the day.

“We’ll have our clothing event judging day in the morning, as well as our communications and table setting judging. And then in the afternoon from 1(pm) to 5(pm), we’ll have our static judging day.”

Knobbe says that the Extension is having the judging day to get results in before the Iowa State Fair, so that contestants may still participate in it. With the Guthrie County Fair taking place after the State Fair, having these judging days before hand is required to allow the State Fair experience to happen for those deserving of it. Knobbe adds that the presentation of projects to the public will take place during the days that the Guthrie County Fair is held.
