A free program with Greene County ISU Extension is focusing on protecting data that is kept online.

The “Cybersecurity for Seniors” will be held at Evergreen Ridge in Jefferson on Wednesday, July 12th from 2-3pm. Greene County Extension Director Lori Mannel says this program will help individuals better understand how online scams work and how to better protect yourself from having your information online kept from being stolen.

“Unfortunately these scammers are pretty darn smart in what they do and technology as we all know is changing, and it’s hard to keep up. You may think that you have the malware on your computers to protect it but there’s changes every single day.”

ISU Extension Farm Management Specialist Alexis Stevens will lead the program. Registration deadline for this program is tomorrow. Contact the Extension Office in Jefferson at 515-386-2138 or stop by to sign up.
