We continue our coverage of the 2023 Greene County Fair Queen candidates.
Another contestant is Shai Woodley, who is going to be a senior this fall at Greene County High School. She is an active member of 4-H and FFA, and is this year’s Sentinel for Greene County FFA. She also participates in her youth group with The Sanctuary. Last year, Woodley showed poultry and rabbits at the county fair and this year she’s planning to show poultry and ducks. She is also part of the Greenbrier 4-H Club.
Woodley talks about why she wants to be the Greene County Fair Queen.
“I think it just was when I was a little kid I always thought, ‘Hey that would be cool to do.’ And then when I got the chance to do it, I finally was like, ‘Okay let’s just do it. This would be a good experience to do.’”
The other candidates for fair queen include Elise Badger, Taylor McDowell and Chanlyn Cunningham. As a reminder, the Greene County Fair Queen contest is Wednesday, July 12th at 7pm at Clover Hall.
