fireworks-300x193-50

With Independence Day being celebrated tomorrow, some towns in Guthrie County are getting ready to have some fun.

In Stuart, fireworks are allowed only on private property between June 1st and July 8th between the hours of 9am and 10pm, except for July 4th and the Saturdays and Sundays immediately preceding and following the 4th, when they are allowed between the hours of 9am and 11pm. Fireworks are not permitted in the city limits of Panora or Guthrie Center.

Stuart City Hall will be closed on Tuesday. Trash routes will not be affected by the holiday. Panora, Guthrie Center and Greenfield city halls will also be closed for the holiday. The Stuart Public Library is closed today and tomorrow in observance of the holiday, and Mary J Barnett Memorial Library will be closed tomorrow as well.

As the 4th of July is a national holiday, all banks and post offices in the listening area will be closed as well. The Guthrie County Courthouse will also be closed for the holiday, and the County Supervisors will not be holding their weekly meeting.
