Fourth of July officially arrives on Tuesday, it’s important to know where you can and can’t use fireworks in Dallas County. 

Perry and Adel residents are not allowed to use consumer fireworks within the city limits at any time. 

Dallas Center residents may use fireworks within city limits only from July 1st-5th between the hours of 9 am  and 10 pm, and the hours are extended on the 4th from 9 am to 11 pm, and it must be on their own property or someone’s property who has given them permission. Residents living in Dexter can only discharge fireworks from 1pm until 10pm on July 1 through July 3rd and 5th, but the hours are lengthened to midnight on July 4th.  

City of Minburn and Redfield residents are asked to follow the statewide laws which state no one can use or explode consumer fireworks after July 8th. The state code only allows for fireworks to be used during the hours between 9am to 10pm except for on the 4th, the hours are extended from 9am until 11pm. Consumer fireworks can not be discharged on city property including parks, parking lots, sidewalks or streets.
